Being a member of LSU means you can take advantage of the social side of university life. LSU runs 3 bars, 1 café, different catering outlets and a variety of entertainment programmes to suit many tastes. We also run 3 student shops.
Bars & Cafes
Scholars: LSU’s traditional student pub offering great value pub grub, live sports and a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks

Drift Café: The place to relax between 
lectures or catch up with friend at the end of the day over a coffee and muffin. With free wi-fi and access to LJMU networked PCs.
Greenshields Bar: LSU’s bar at IM Marsh, located in the Student Centre, serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
LSU understands our members have different musical tastes so we offer a range of entertainments from quiz nights to karaoke plus a range of club nights.
As a member you can benefit from the great drinks prices to knowing you are in a safe and secure environment where your safety is our priority and our staff really do care. Plus it is not too far to walk home for those living in the City Centre!
Student Shops
These shops are run and managed by LSU which is really important as it means any profits are ploughed back into union services – we don’t run this service to generate a profit for shareholders this service helps us to run many activities and events. Also being run by LSU means you can apply to work in these outlets – and as employer we understand the pressures of being working students.
LSU runs a group of student shops located in The Haigh Building, IM Marsh and Byrom Street selling a variety of products catering for your requirements whilst at your university. We sell sandwiches, confectionary, newspapers, magazines, stationary and official LJMU crested merchandise including the LJMU ‘hoodie’ a must for any student!
