► Leave Liverpool Tidy
May, June and July are busy times for the streets of Liverpool with thousands of students moving in and out of rented accommodation.
This creates lots of rubbish, which is often not disposed of correctly and a nightmare for local residents as well as not being environmentally friendly. LSU has launched Leave Liverpool Tidy to assist students in dealing with their unwanted items, see our top tips for getting rid of your unwanted clutter:
- Get organised and sort out what you want and what you don't
- Make the most of your normal rubbish collection - call 0151 233 3001 if you don't know the dates and put your rubbish out on the right days to aviod a fine. Download the Smithdown area bin information
- Recycle it! Use the Bring Banks in Asda car parks or in the UoL car park on Peach Street
- Call Bulky Bobs - 0151 233 3001 if you have larger items like furniture and they will come and collect it for you
- Put it in a skip - there will be skips in Smithdown and Kensington Fields on days in May
- Put it on Freecycle - www.freecycle.com
- Give it to a charity shop
- Sell it - earn some extra cash try www.preloved.co.uk or www.ebay.co.uk
- Swop it - one person's junk is anothers treasure, speak to friends and see it they have anything you want to swop
