Heating
The heating of the building is set by the university. It is individuals’ responsibility to ensure that if they feel the heating is to high/low to contact the building team who will monitor the situation and if there are significant problems then the University will be requested to lower/higher the heating to the building.
Computer Screens
It is individuals’ responsibility to ensure that they turn off their own computer screen after they have logged off their computers.
Lights
It is individuals’ responsibility to ensure that they turn off their office light when leaving their office and when they finish work. It is also individuals’ responsibility to turn off other lights throughout the building, e.g. when they leave a meeting room, the kitchen, the bathroom.
During their routine early evening lock up venues team will turn off any office lights left on, turn off the Shop lights when closed and the Drift lights if not open that evening.
At the end of the night all corridor and Scholars Bar lights will be switched off by bar manager
Lights will be replaced by more environmentally versions when they need replacing.
Windows
It is individuals’ responsibility to ensure that windows in their offices are closed at the end of their working day and when possible to keep windows closed when the heating is on to prevent heat loss. If the heating is too high refer to point 1 above.
Venues team will then check all windows are closed during their routine early evening lock up.
Water
It is individuals’ responsibility to ensure that they turn off taps after use. It is also individuals’ responsibility to ensure that they only boil the amount of water they need when using the kettle.
Appliances
It is individuals’ responsibility to ensure that they switch appliances off at the wall plug when they have finished using an electrical appliance.
