► French Society

The aim is to take a few hours outside of university and lectures, to be able to mix, get to know and socialise more with exchange students (particularly the French ones!). At the same time as French students help the English students (and any other nationality. All who are interested in French are welcome!) to improve their French oral skills, the English students in turn help the exchange students to improve their English. All of this done in a more relaxed, social and enjoyable enviroment, we would like to create a culturally aware and interesting group, where not just language, but values, understanding and knowledge can be shared. The idea is for the society to appeal more to the cultural side of things and to be stimulating on a more intellectual level, rather than “just” a social or opportunity to mess about. Etc... The Cafe 07 is the ideal location for these meetings, nearby, it is owned by a French lady; the theme, the feel and atmosphere are very French and it really sets the scene. It is also quiet and relaxed, which will enable us to converse calmly and create a much more enjoyable environment (unlikely many loud, busy or bigger competitors in the same area). It is cosy and inviting, perfect for what we are looking for.
