► Hall Rep Job Description
Through the Hall Rep programme we aim to improve the first year, living in halls experience by enabling students to have a greater input into what we offer and creating a greater sense of community and pride within halls.
We hope to increase communication between Liverpool Student’s Union and the students living in halls of residence.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
• To act as a representative of Liverpool Student’s Union to students in their hall.
• To increase communication in the halls.
• To talk to and listen to students.
• To promote the Union and its services.
• To help plan and promote events.
• To improve the halls experience for students.
• To help plan and successfully run Welcome Week 2010.
The positions will all be separate but they will all help each other and work as a team to achieve maximum success.
The Presidents individual role will include:
• Leading the team of Reps
• Encouraging and motivating students to take part in events and activities organised by the other Reps
• Main control of finances, how to get funding and how to budget
• Ensuring that all events and activities are risk assessed and organised correctly
• Building a good relationship with site staff
• Participating in Better City Forums
• Promoting Union activity e.g. Campaigns, special offers etc
The Volunteering Representatives individual role will include:
• Encouraging residents to take part in volunteering opportunities
• Organising fund raising events and promoting them
• Helping promote and organise RAG events
• Promoting environmental awareness
• Helping to improve relations with the local community
The Sports Rep’s individual role will include:
• Finding out what sports residents in their hall want to get involved in
• Promoting sports clubs and societies and BUCS
• Organising sporting matches and tournaments with Sports Reps from other halls
The Activities Representatives role will include:
• Finding out what events the residents want to see happen
• Helping the other Reps with any events that they want to organise
• Organising and promoting their own events
