Feedback Campaign

Liverpool Students' Union has worked with our University to make feedback better for students.  Every time we speak to students about how they want to improve their learning experience, they mention feedback - this is backed up in surveys taken by the University.

In March 2010, we produced a consultation document '10 ways for LJMU to make feedback better for students'.  We took this to LJMU's Academic Board and won approval for our objectives; we then had meetings with the University to discuss how to implement it.

By September 2010, the University has agreed to implement objectives one, two, three and four, meaning that Liverpool Students' Union has won real change for students - we have changed practice to make learning better for all students.  Our members will now have

  • student assessment deadlines will be published alongside university feedback deadlines
  • feedback will be available three weeks after the assessment deadline
  • feedback will relate to the assessment criteria
  • students will be entitled to face-to-face feedback on their first piece of assessed work

We are now working the University to implement more of our objectives, and continuing with our research to identify how we can further improve feedback.
