Liverpool Students' Union is democratic - that means we have some procedures which outline the way we enable our student members to participate in our union and which describe the activites we undertake to help deliver a better student experience. We're proud of our Constitution. We think it's simple to use and easy to understand. It's approved by the Liverpool Students' Union Board of Trustees and regulated by Liverpool John Moores University Board of Governors. We are currently in the process of registering with the Charity Commission, which will mean we will be regulated by two separate bodies to ensure we are effectively delivering for our student members. Our current Constitution was approved in 2009. It has been awarded the Plain English Campaign's Crystal Mark for clarity in language. We're currently in the process of making some changes to the way we are governed and have proposed to the University Board of Governors, in a paper to their November 2010 meeting, that we use a new Constituion. We'll update you with more information about our progress in registering as a charity as we find out more.
