Latest News
Hello and welcome to the LiverpoolSU’s Advice Centre webpage.
Throughout the year we will endeavour to keep you updated about any changes or trends that we are able to recognise. This will be done via the news feed on this page.
Throughout the year, you can expect to see announcements about a host of things including:-
Appeal advice and deadlines, changes to procedures, forum announcements, how to avoid academic misconduct and where to go for other help and support.
It is safe to say that the majority of you will hopefully not have the need to use our service and will sail through your 3-4 years of education at LJMU without any hitches and attain your target awards.
For those of you that do encounter problems that affect your studies, you should be aware that there are people that can help you.
Whether it is personal problems, family problems, disciplinary issues, complaints or you are just simply struggling, there are places you can go to get help and advice.
Liverpool Students' Union Advice Centre is focused to advise and represent students in regards to the following specialist academic matters:-
• Academic Appeals
• Complaints
• Extenuating Circumstances submissions
• Fitness to practice/study
• Academic Misconduct
• LJMU Criminal Conviction Panel decisions etc
LiverpoolSU advice staff can offer friendly and professional expert help with all of the above.
Students requiring assistance with Housing, Debt and Student Funding are referred to the following:-

CONTACTING LIVERPOOLSU ADVICE CENTRE -
If you wish to speak to an LSU adviser you should request an appointment by calling 0151 231 4900. The reception team can arrange a personal appointment to suit your availability. We also offer telephone and skype appointments for those students who are unable to attend LiverpoolSU in person. To book either of these services you should also call 0151 231 4900.
Alternatively, you can send your academic query to lsuadvice@ljmu.ac.uk and an adviser will aim to respond to you within 24-48 hours (on business days) when possible. Occasionally the service is booked to capacity so sometimes there may be small delays in responding to email requests.
NB: if you have made an appointment but have decided that you no longer need it, PLEASE call us to cancel so that we can offer the appointment slot to another student who does need assistance. Any students who fail to attend appointments without cancelling on two occasions may not be offered a new appointment the next time they require advice.
