Mens Gaelic Football

The Mens Gaelic football team is a constantly growing club within the union and Mens Gaelic as a whole within the UK. We have two teams and are always open to new members looking to play. We are the most successful club not only within the unions' sports teams in recent years, in addition to winning the British University Championship 5 times out of 6 years in the 'A' grade. Furthermore, our second team winning in 2009 and runners up in 2011 in the 'B' grade. We have represented Britain as champions at the sigerson cup weekend, competing in the Trench Cup.

Our team is NOT only about competing and winning, but about meeting new people and forming friendships with many others that will last well into the future. We have a thriving social scene within the club, with many successful nites out and a great way of making initial new friendships. We also encourage Non - Irish students to join and get involved as these numbers have continued to grow in recent years.

Meetings

Trials for both teams will take place over September and October. Training will take place at Wavertree park at 7pm Tuesday and I.M Marsh sports hall Thursdays at 7pm with matches played over weekends.

This years plans

We plan to organise more successful socials and work with the union to create more inter-club socials. To continue our winning tradition, we plan to retain the championship from last year and the second team to go one step further and win their division championship. Our main aim is to go one step further and bring the Trench Cup back this side of the Irish sea. Both teams will be competing in their own leagues, this being the second teams first ever league outing.
