Wanted: students who will love their uni. Students who are missional, biblical, relational, catalytic and inclusive. Students who will live beyond themselves, in the culture with clean hearts and dirty hands.
The universities and the colleges of the
Fusion started in 1997 as a response to the increasing secularisation in our universities and to the growing student numbers. Through serving churches, connecting with students and developing student workers we hope to fuel the fires of a national student movement.
Student numbers increase at an unprecedented rate. More 18-25 year olds will gather in these institutions than anywhere else – to learn, and to explore life, desires and possibilities. The government has set a target to see 50% of all young people in higher and further education.
We believe that a move of God among students will take place as an army of workers are mobilised to invest in this mission field. To do this partnership across the body of Christ with a diversity of church streams is essential.
We work relationally at every level of the Fusion. It is our belief that to outwork the purposes of Fusion we will need a network of individuals and churches that are connected on a heart-level. We work hard at good, honest and open relationships that facilitate the growth of the
Fusion’s plumbline for conduct and belief is scripture. We ensure that the programmes and activities of the organisation are rooted in the Bible, and we look to find biblical solutions to the challenges we face. Fusion subscribes to the Evangelical Alliance basis of faith at all levels of our network.
We believe unreservedly in the transforming and radical message of Jesus and that he speaks hope into a generation of students who know little of the man or the message. Fusion fuels the fires of a national student movement in the
Where God is moving, we look to get alongside and serve, advise, challenge, counsel and resource those on the frontline. We carry a strong value of local-church and look to be a catalyst for churches to engage with the student mission field on their doorsteps.
Fusion seeks to work in partnership at all levels of our organisation. At present we serve in conjunction with around 30 organisations, denominations and church streams. We look to be inclusive and labour alongside those who wish to see a significant move of God in the universities of the
