Ju Jitsu is a modern form of an ancient Japanese martial art that
employs strikes, locks and throws. Based on the principle of using the
opponent's strength against him, Ju Jitsu can be practised effectively
by anyone, regardless of strength, size or sex. The syllabus taught
involves a wide variety of techniques designed to be effective in
various self-defence situations. Training is conducted in a safe,
controlled and friendly environment. In addition to increasing
self-confidence, training will improve fitness, strength, speed,
flexibility, balance and co-ordination.
The Liverpool John Moores Ju Jitsu club is part of the Jitsu Foundation,
a national association with clubs throughout the UK. Regional and
national courses, competitions and club social events are held
regularly. Come along and try it for yourself, the first session is
free.
Training is held in The Haigh Building, Large Committee Room, first
floor, on Mondays and Wednesdays 6.30-8.30pm.
