To get an eye test, glasses or other related treatment, you will need to see an optician. An eye test costs, from 1st April 2005, £18.39, and the price of frames and lenses varies widely. There are plenty of opticians in Liverpool, so shop around for the best deal.
If you are registering with a new dentist, check if they are willing to provide treatment under the NHS system. Dentists are now allowed to accept or refuse patients and provide private treatment only. Again charges tend to vary at different practices. This is a doctor's surgery and pharmacy combined which is funded by Central Liverpool Primary Care Trust. It is located in 2 Vauxhall Road opposite Avril Robarts Centre.
It has been set especially because of reported demand by local residents and students to meet local needs. The surgery offers the usual GP services for REGISTERED patients which currently include students from local halls of residence. The surgery is open Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm (Thursday 9am to noon).
