LJMU Health Care Sites

From February 2006, the Occupational Health Unit will be based in the Charlie Robertson Medical Centre on Mount Pleasant. Student Medical Services are based at the Iain Newman Medical Centre at I M Marsh, and from February 2006, at the James Parsons Building in Byrom Street. The service aims to provide students with access to health care at convenient times. Located on two sites - James Parsons Building (Byrom Street) and at the Iain Newman Centre (IM Marsh) - the centres are open throughout semester.

As well as providing care whilst you are unwell, the staff at the centres can provide advice on aspects of healthy living; contraception and cervical smear tests; medicals for sporting activities, and vaccinations and immunisations. Physiotherapy and sports injury clinics are held at the Iain Newman

All students from outside the area are strongly advised to register with a local GP to provide health care should the need arise during their stay in Liverpool.

Patient Registrations - I M Marsh

Students at I M Marsh may continue to register with Dr Hargreaves. He will take on patients living in post-codes L17, L18 and L19. If a student lives outside those post-codes, but studies 5 days per week at I M Marsh, (s)he may still register - but thre would be no home visits in these circumstances. Should a registered patient move out of the area, (s) he can be kept on as a patient.
