Handy Hints for the Big Move

As Tony Blair once said: "Preparation. Preparation. Preparation." or something along those lines. So here are a few questions to ask yourself before you turn up in Liverpool...

  • Do you have somewhere to live?
  • Do you know exactly where and when to enrol?
  • Have you applied for your Student Loan?
  • Do you have a bank account with enough money to survive the first few weeks?
...And don't forget to bring these essential items with you...
  • Proof of examination results
  • Your offer/confirmation letter from JMU
  • Your passport/driving licence/birth certificate (or certified copy)
  • Your LEA Assessment Form (if available) or other evidence of sponsorship
  • Some passport size photographs, with your name on the back of the photograph for your NUS Card, Gym or Club Membership Card or Bus Pass.
Believe us, you'll be spending your first few days at uni queuing up for this and registering for that. It's better to be prepared than wasting an hour of your suddenly-expanding social life getting to the front of the queue and then being told you haven't got the right forms. It's enough to drive anyone to scream in frustration!

Below are some links you may find of use in finding out what JMU, and specifically, LSU have to offer students. Go on, click away!
