Students with disabilities face unique problems in university and within society as a whole. The issues and considerations of Students with Disabilities is often over looked and neglected. To ensure that LSU doesn't do this, LSU has a dedicated Disabled Rights officer on the Executive Committee, James McGarvey. James works to ensure the needs at SWD students are met and considered. We also co-ordinate the Students with Disabilities Action Group which acts as a political, campaigning, social and advisory group. Any student who self defines as having a disability are welcome to join and can do so by contacting the Union.
